Jack

Jack McCurrach was born at the Leys of Hillhead in Rafford on January 27, 1888.  He emigrated to Canada in 1910 where he lived in Vancouver until he went to war in 1917.   He was wounded at Lens, France during the Battle for Hill 70 in August of that year.  Never to return to the war, he worked as a printer for the Army until 1919 when he returned home.  He continued working as a compositor after the war, and had 3 children and 7 grandchildren.  He died in 1957.
