Helen Steele (Nellie) was born in 1891 in or near Banff, Scotland. She had a twin brother named William. She emigrated to Canada in 1912 to meet up with and marry Jack McCurrach. They had three children: Gladys (my grandmother), Jim and Helen (Peggy). She died in in the 1980s in North Vancouver. She lived long enough to be a part of my life.
